Raymond Francis Chappetto, (August 20, 1945) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who has been an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn since 2012.

Biography

Raymond F. Chappetto was born in Astoria, New York. He was ordained a priest on May 29, 1971.[1] Chappetto was appointed Titular Bishop of Citium and Auxiliary to the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn on May 2, 2012 by Benedict XVI.[2] He was consecrated on July 11, 2012.[3]

A Queens Native, Bishop Chappetto is an alumnus of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Astoria, Cathedral Preparatory Seminary and Cathedral College, Brooklyn. He earned an M.Div. at Our Lady of the Angels Seminary, Albany and holds a MA in Religious Studies from Saint John's University. Bishop Chappetto served as parochial vicar of Saint Camillus, Rockaway Park, St. Pius V, Jamaica, Incarnation, Queens Village and St. Helen, Howard Beach. He was pastor of Our Lady of Miracles, Canarsie and Our Lady of the Snows, North Floral Park and served as Episcopal Vicar of Brooklyn West. Currently, Bishop Chappetto is the pastor of St. Kevin, Flushing and serves as Vicar General and Vicar for Clergy and Consecrated Life of the Diocese of Brooklyn.
