Ririe High School is a public high school in Ririe, Idaho.

Historically, it is notable for being the first school in USA history to sue to withdraw from a County School District. It won the suit in 1963 and formed its own independent school district, #252, with its own superintendent and school board.

History

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Ririe High School has been a member of the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools since 1945.

Campus

The high school consists of one building with two levels and a seminary building across the street. The campus is in the middle of the town. In 2004 the oldest half of the building was remodeled adding a cafeteria so the students no longer had to walk to the elementary school for lunch. Also the campuses will be switched after the year 2010, in which the Jr. High will become the High school and vice versa. The Jr. high has been modified heavily, adding more rooms and a larger gym.

Extracurricular activities

Activities available to Ririe students include 4-H, band, choir, dance team, drama, golf, scholastic bowl, Business Professionals of America, and Spanish club. In 2007 Ririe had its first FCCLA teams both of which won gold in the state competitions. The teams then went on to compete in the nationals in California. Ririe's BPA usually sends at least one team to compete in the State competitions every year, led by their teacher Becky Webster.

Athletics

The Ririe Bulldogs compete in the Nuclear Conference in the Idaho High School Activities Association 2A class. Ririe fields teams in interscholastic competition in basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. The wrestling team has always placed highly, due to the influences of their coach and the Government teacher, who for many years was highly valued for his experience in the Southwestern regions of Idaho until his retirement.

Curriculum

In addition to its regular curriculum, Ririe students can take vocational courses through Eastern Idaho Technical College.
