Rwanda competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's eighth consecutive appearance at the Olympics.
The Rwandan National Olympic and Sports Committee (French: Comité National Olympique et Sportif du Rwanda), sent the nation's largest team to the Games, after the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. A total of 7 athletes, 5 men and 2 women, competed in 4 sports. Among the sports played by the athletes, Rwanda also marked its Olympic debut in judo. Mountain biker and Rwandan Genocide survivor Adrien Niyonshuti was the nation's flag bearer at the opening ceremony.[2] Rwanda, however, has yet to win its first ever Olympic medal.
