Shelby Ann Narito Rabara (born October 5, 1983) is a Filipino-American actress and dancer. She has appeared in a number of films, television series, and commercials as both an actress and a dancer.[2] Rabara is known for providing the voice of Peridot on the Cartoon Network series Steven Universe. She was previously a member of the Laker Girls; the cheerleading squad of basketball team Los Angeles Lakers.[3]
Personal life
Rabara was born in Orange County, California. She was raised by her mother in a single-parent household, along with her two siblings.[3] Rabara is of Filipino descent.[4] She graduated with a degree in world arts and cultures from the University of California, Los Angeles.[5]
Rabara began a relationship with Costa Rican-American actor and dancer Harry Shum, Jr. in 2007. The two became engaged in October 2013 while on vacation in Hawaii,[6] and were married on November 22, 2015 in Costa Rica.[7] The couple reside in a 3-bedroom 1930s home in the Hollywood Hills.[8]
