St.John's College Nugegoda, started in 1915, is the only boys' school in Nugegoda city, Sri Lanka. It contains two primary sections and upper school. Nugegoda had no English School 'till the year 1915. St. John's School was started with 14 pupils on May 5, 1915. In 1934, the mixed school of St. John's was separated and a Boys' and a Girls' school was established, henceforth to be known as the College of St. John, Nugeogda.

In 1915, five Wardens of the Church of St.John, led by the Very Reverend John Henry Wickramanayake, secured a piece of land in Nugegoda from the Bishop of Colombo. They collected money to establish an English School with 15 students. School. One of the first students, Ossie Abeyratne, became the first Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Colombo and another the Inspector General of Police.

Battle of Johnians T-20 Series

Battle of Johnians is organized by school OBA .Four St.John's Colleges participated for first time in Sri Lanka. Nugegoda, Panadura, Dematagoda and Jaffna schools joined with this inaugural match held 18–19 January at the BRC ground.

St.John's Miyurusara Musicla Show

The St.John's Miyurusara Musicla Show was held in 2014, at the youth center. The musical show was guided by Professor Sunil Ariyaratne with Sunil Edirisinghe, Nirosha Virajini and Athma Liyanage performing.
