Sydney University Cricket Club is a cricket club associated with the University of Sydney. It was founded in 1864.[1] The club plays in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition. Its first Grade Cricket match was against Glebe Cricket Club in 1893.[2]
Australian Test players who have played for Sydney University Cricket Club include Tom Garrett, Sammy Jones, Johnny Taylor, John Dyson,[3] and Ed Cowan.[4] Test players Imran Khan of Pakistan[3] and Kevin Pietersen of England[5] have also played for the club.
Australia's first prime minister Edmund Barton played cricket for Sydney University Cricket Club.[6]
