Tara Lynne Barr (born October 2, 1993) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her role in the 2011 film God Bless America, which earned her a Young Artist Award nomination as Best Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film.[1]

Early life

Barr was born in Orange County, California. Her parents are long time employees of Southern California Edison Company. They enrolled Barr and her older sister Erin in the Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley's before- and after-school care program. When the Huntington Valley Boys and Girls Clubs started their Clubhouse Theatre program, Barr's sister auditioned for and performed in several children's theater productions. Barr was inspired to take up acting after seeing her sister on stage.

Career

After performing in ten productions with the Clubhouse Theatre, Barr turned her attention to film and television. At the age of 11, she starred in the dark comedy short film Road Kill, which won the 2005 Audience Choice Award at the New York City Horror Film Festival.[2] She appeared as the host of Encore's Fear Fest: 31 Nights of Horror. She has appeared in television shows such as Joan of Arcadia, Crossing Jordan, Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and The Bold and the Beautiful. In 2011, she co-starred in the Bobcat Goldthwait film God Bless America.

Personal life

Barr has donated her time over several years to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley as a performer and presenter for a variety of functions, and was a celebrity youth presenter at the 6th annual OMNI Youth Music / Actor Awards.[3]
