Tatiana Padilla (LaVerne, Calif./Team California) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 15–21.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Padilla became just the second women's wrestler to capture four Junior National titles. Padilla won her fourth Junior Nationals title on Monday afternoon at the Fargo Dome in Fargo, N.D.

Padilla beat Shelby Shirley of Ohio 6-0, 6-0 in the 132-pound finals on Monday.

Padilla, 17, a 2007 Junior World silver medalist, will compete in the upcoming 2008 Junior World Championships in Turkey.

Padilla placed second in the 2007 U.S. World Team Trials before finishing third in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

She is a two-time ASICS High School Wrestler of the Year.[1]
