The racial makeup of the city was 17.98% White, 76.40% African American, 2.25% Native American, 2.25% from other races, and 1.12% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.37% of the population.

There were 34 households out of which 23.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 20.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.5% were non-families. 23.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
