Trevor is a 1994 American short film written by James Lecesne, produced by Randy Stone and Peggy Rajski and directed by Peggy Rajski. It is the story of a gay 13-year-old boy who, when rejected by friends because of his sexuality, makes an attempt to take his life. The film was inspired by a NPR radio broadcast discussing teen suicide, claiming that one third of teen suicides affects LGBTQ youth.[1]

It tied for an Academy Award in 1995 for Best Short Subject with Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life.[2][3]

In 1998 Trevor inspired the founding of The Trevor Project, a 24/7 crisis and suicide prevention helpline for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.
