"Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" was the biggest hit single for Norman Cook's dance-jazz group, Freak Power, released in 1993 as a single. The song features a smooth jazz sound and the baritone vocals of lead singer Ashley Slater. The single originally wasn't very well received, at least not commercially, only making number 29 in the United Kingdom.

However, two years later, the song was used in the popular Levi's advertisement[1] "Taxi" and re-released in early 1995. This time, the single was a huge success, reaching number 3 on the UK Singles Chart and was the only hit single for the group, but they still reached the Top 30 one more time in 1998.
