  1.  Ibragim Samadov (EUN) was disqualified after he threw his medal onto the podium and walked out of the medal ceremony. The IOC decided not to award the medal to fourth-place finisher  Chon Chol Ho (PRK) as Samadov's offence had not been committed in the context of the competition. Ho became angry with officials for not handing the medal to him, and abused and attempted to attack them before being restrained by security. Samadov was banned for life.
