Saint-Christol-lès-Alès is a commune in the Gard department in southern France.
During the 2003 European heat wave, Saint-Christol-lès-Alès, together with Conqueyrac, recorded the highest temperature ever reached in France: 44.1 °C (111 °F).[1]
