Pirbuterol (trade name: Maxair) is a beta-2 adrenergic bronchodilator used in the treatment of asthma, available (as pirbuterol acetate) as a breath-activated metered-dose inhaler ("autohaler").
Clinical use
- Asthma - preventative/maintenance medicine
- Asthma - "rescue" medicine for reversal of acute asthma attack
